Tween Room Refresh

I love to do room makeovers as much as I love to do people makeovers! This particular project was a lot of fun because my young client loves sports, glamour and books so I wanted to create a space that reflected her personality. Also, I think transitioning from Elementary school to middle school is a pivotal point in one’s life so it’s nice to have the room mark that transition too. The goal was to refresh the space by using existing key pieces of furniture and adding a few new pieces to address interests, hobbies and storage needs. The result was beyond my expectations and our tweenager was ecstatic.

Color Scheme: Black & White, Purple, and Gold

Statement Wall

The room is spacious with tall vaulted ceilings so I decided to use the wall behind the bed as a statement wall. I found these gorgeous enormous peonies from Urbanwalls and the result was spectacular.

Storage

The room did not have a bookshelf so I found this cute one with a touch of gold to house books and other objects. I also added a few bins and baskets on top of the dresser and in the room for color and storage needs.

Seating

The swing chair became an instant hit with my young client as it became her favorite reading spot.

Using Gold accessories added a hinted a glamor and sophistication to the room.
