Attending Stagecoach 2022

I finally made it to a music festival in the California desert! I was always curious about what it would be like to attend Coachella or Stagecoach so was excited to check it out.

For those of you, who are not familiar with Stagecoach it is an outdoor country music festival held annually at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Various artists attend, whether they be mainstream or relatively unknown, ranging from folk, mainstream country, bluegrass, roots rock, Americana, and alternative country. I don’t like extreme weather or crowds so it was intimidating but I also like to try new things/experiences so went in with an open mind and managed my itinerary to overcome some of my fears.

There are many different ways to enjoy stagecoach but I opted for staying at a hotel and renting a car for flexibility. Although it seemed like a lot of people come in big groups and rent RVs.

Here are a few of my tips if you plan to attend Stagecoach in the future:

Getting there: There are shuttles from most locations or rideshare and rental cars are all good options; however, it’s still a 20-30 min walk to the concert area on a dirty and dusty path.

Where to Stay: La Quinta and El Paseo were about 15-20 minutes away from Stagecoach. It was nice to have access to a pool to relax while not at the festival and have some decent meals.

Fashion: My favorite part! Daisy Dukes with cropped tops/bikinis, cowboy boots & hats seemed to be the uniform. I opted for gingham, denim, white, and Americana. So fun to see the creativity in clothing, hair, and makeup.

Food: Typical overpriced concert food. My favorite was pizza from Spicy Pie!

To conclude, attending Stagecoach was a fun experience as long as you are prepared with all the essentials and the right frame of mind. I loved listening to the music, taking in the craziness around me, admiring the bold fashion, and getting out of my comfort zone. Definitely worth attending at least once!
